Mirror Multimedia Communications MMC produced a 7-minute documentary for the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), exploring the opportunities unlocked by digital transformation in Nigeria’s education sector. The documentary presents data on the number of computers, tablets, and smart boards deployed by the federal government to schools and State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs) across the federation — including digital tools that enhanced internal communication within the UBEC structure, and smart boards enabling SUBEB chairmen and UBEC itself to monitor real-time data from classrooms nationwide. The film also documents UBEC’s digital learning centres, powered by constant solar electricity and connected via a one-year Starlink subscription to guarantee uninterrupted internet access. MMC‘s production team traveled to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and Lagos State, visiting schools and SUBEB offices to capture firsthand the tools in active use — from students engaging with computers to teachers navigating newly digitized classrooms. The full 7-minute documentary was delivered within five days of production, reflecting MMC’s capacity to turn around high-quality, data-driven storytelling on a tight timeline.
